Tech Tips for thermostats & controllers (Just click on 'Answer:')
Q: Hello, looking for a reset schedule for static pressure. Have Powers 195-0003 receiver controller.Connected to primary port 1 is 0 to 10" w.c. transmitter located at fan discharge, connected to secondary input port 3 is 0 to 3" w.c. transmitter located 2/3 distance downstream of fan unit.System is looking to maintain 1.5" w.c. Any help would be appreciated.
Submitted by: Rocco, Thermotician New York City Agency
Answer:
A: It depends upon what your reset parameters are (what are you reseting based upon?). Determine what your setpoint is going to be; then decide how far to either side of the setpoint you are willing to drive your fans. For example, if your static pressure setpoint is 1.5"WC, are you comfortable driving the pressure up as far as 2-2.5"WC or as low as0.5-1.0"WC. Based upon the physical limitations of the system and the engineers drawings, that needs to be defined. One observation is that your transmitter spans seem to be too disparate. Give us a call to discuss the application (800) 227-9800.
